Residency Programs General Information
Appointments
Residency will begin on June 24, 2006. Advanced
Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support
(ATLS) courses are required and we will pay for you to take
them here. These courses are generally one to two weeks prior
to June 24 along with other hospital orientation, suturing course,
etc. that are mandatory for new housestaff so you must plan
to be here approximately 2 weeks in advance. All programs are
approved by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education
(ACGME).
International Medical School Graduates
All graduates of foreign medical schools must
be certified by the Educational Committee for Foreign Medical
Graduates. All alien foreign graduates must meet the requirements
of the Visa Qualifying Examination (VQE) or the Foreign Medical
Graduate Exam in Medical Sciences (FMGEMS) prior to application.
Documentation of sponsorship qualifications must be submitted
with the application. Photocopies of the supporting documents
must be certified by a notary public that they are true and
