I.
Unsupported
A. Hardware
1. Individually
owned systems, with the exception of CCI computers defined in A2 above

owned systems located off-campus

do not meet minimum hardware specifications (currently set at P3-1000
processors, but subject to periodic update)
4. Systems and
peripherals that were purchased external to the recommendation of the Surgery
IT Support Staff.
5. Servers other
than those already existing in the Surgery domain (i.e., Surgery-a,Surgery-b,
etc)
B. Software
1. No
departmental support for any applications outside of those listed above. [Note: the independent installation of
unsupported software applications by the user entails risks of computer
failures and incompatibilities with production applications.]
2. No
departmental support for applications listed above on non-university owned
systems
C. Licensure
1. Individuals
are responsible for complying with licensing agreements for applications
outside of those listed, above
2. Individuals
are responsible for complying with licensing agreements for applications listed
above on non-university owned systems
II.
Security
A. The Surgery IT
Support Staff will maintain administrator login privileges on all computers
connecting to the Surgery network

B. The department
of Surgery subscribes to the

University’s ATN Security Policy (http://help.unc.edu/ , Security, ATN
Security Policy)
D. Violations of these policies may result in the loss
of network connectivity and/or account restrictions
